Mengerink was awarded 1st place a Regionals, 2nd place at State, and earned a gold medal at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference for her "Human Trafficking in Today's World" presentation. 

Abbie Mengerink, Van Wert High School/Vantage Career Center FCCLA member, virtually attended the 2021 FCCLA National Leadership Conference where she was awarded a gold medal for her project.

Van Wert High School’s National Honor Society (NHS) students recently donated $150 to Van Wert’s Haven of Hope and $150 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, earning them the Bronze Champions donation status for Hero Squad.

Van Wert High School held its Senior Awards Convocation for the Class of 2021 on Monday, May 10, 2021 in the Saltzgaber Music Hall of the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.

Van Wert senior Kirsten Dunning has officially signed her letter of intent to continue her education and running career at Ohio Christian University in Circleville next year.

10 students read letters to educators that had an impact on them during the 26th annual educator's banquet.

Wednesday evening, students and educators from Van Wert City Schools gathered at Willow Bend Country Club to honor teachers who had a special impact on students and those who will be retiring this school year.

Van Wert High School seniors will graduate during an in-person commencement ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at Van Wert High School, and, during Wednesday night’s monthly meeting, the Board of Education approved the list of members of the Class of 2021.

Wednesday morning, students involved with the high school Career Education Opportunities (CEO) program gathered to celebrate the fifth successful year of the program.

Ella Hernandez, Debbie Jones, Alexis Pangle, Gage Stemen, Sarah Verville, Emma Wallace, and Citlali Aguilar-Montiel were all honored for their artwork they created using the YWCA's mission statement.

On Wednesday, seven Van Wert City Schools students were honored at the Van Wert County YWCA for the work they did in creating an art display that encompasses the YWCA mission.

Van Wert City Schools, in correlation with Ohio Revised Code 3313.64 or 3313.65, will again permit students from other school districts in Ohio to apply and enroll in the district's school system through "open enrollment" for the 2021-2022 school year.

Forty-six students in the Career Education Opportunities (CEO) program from Crestview, Lincolnview, and Van Wert toured various downtown buildings on Tuesday with the Van Wert County Foundation to learn more about the Van Wert Forward Project.
