COVID-19 update March 30, 2020

In a press conference held on Monday, March 30, Governor Mike DeWine extended all Ohio school closures until at least May 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. DeWine stated that they will reevaluate the situation as that date draws closer.

Van Wert City Schools will continue to educate our students through distance learning and teachers will be in contact with parents and students regarding classwork. VWCS will continue to provide meals for students through our Grab and Go meal service plan. Buildings will remain closed and all spring sports and extra-curricular activities are on hold until further notice.

VWCS continues to work closely with the Van Wert Health Department, who is in contact with the Ohio Department of Health and the CDC, as we monitor the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) throughout Ohio.
