The Van Wert boys fell by just 24 pins to Ottawa-Glandorf, while the girls team continued their winning ways with a victory over the Lady Titans.
The boys team dropped their match by a final score of 2762-2638.
The Cougars took a slim lead in game one with Aidyn Sidle and Jacob Place leading the way. Sidle rolled a 208 game and Place pitched in with a 193 game.
In the second game, the Titans got hot and took a 47 pin lead. Place and Ian Ellis kept the Cougars within striking distance with games of 177 and 225 respectively.
The Titans outlasted Van Wert in the Baker portion of the match and came away with the win.
The girls team extended their winning streak to six in the WBL with their 2435-1842 win over the Lady Titans.
In the first game, Lorrie Decker led the team with a score of 195. Ryleigh Hanicq and Hanna Say also chipped in with games of 159 and 157 to put the Lady Cougars in front.
Decker rolled a 209 in the second game and Say recorded a 183.
In the Baker portion the girls put up a strong total of 806.
With the win, the Lady Cougars move to 6-1 overall and remain undefeated at 6-0 in the WBL.
Both teams will have their next match on Jan. 18 at home against Bath.
