The Van Wert girls bowling team's second place finish at the WBL tournament on Friday locked them up as as the WBL co-champions.
Lorrie Decker struck out in the 10th frame of the final game to lock up the victory. She led the Lady Cougars with a second place overall finish, and a high game of 212.
Makenna Nagel finished seventh overall with a high game of 177, Ryleigh Hanicq finished 13th, Hanna Say 28th, and Tiarra Rhodes 37th.
The girls WBL championship is their first ever.

The Van Wert boys continued their emergence after some early season struggles with a fifth place finish at the tournament.
Jacob Place garnered a fifth place overall finish with high game of 221. Taylor Springer also broke 200 with a high game of 202 to come in 23rd on the day.
Aidyn Sidle followed Springer in 26th, and Ian Ellis rounded out the Cougar scorers at 29th.
Both teams will bowl at their respective sectional tournaments on Saturday.
