The Lady Cougars grabbed their first win on the volleyball court Thursday after making quick work of Defiance in three sets.
Scores for the match were 25-22, 25-13, and 25-15.
Jaylyn Rickard led the team in kills with 10, while Finley Foster paced the Lady Cougars with 20 assists and Carlee Young racked up 15 digs.
Van Wert's overall record is now 1-2, with a 1-0 mark in the WBL. Their next match is at home on Tuesday against Kalida.
